For those who purchased our preconfigured Meteohub plugs:

• By default, the plug will become available on IP address 192.168.1.77; login as user meteohub and password meteohub
• If you want to log in to the plug via the serial connection or ssh, you may log in as root with password meteohub
• The SD card sold with these plugs is an SLC card and as such should have a much extended lifetime and better performance. It also costs more than a regular SD card, but in the long run should be more cost-effective. The operating system and meteohub software resides on the SD card.

The installed version of the meteohub software is a time-limited demo version. If the demo has expired, you should contact the meteohub people for an extension or upgrade. If necessary we can advise you on technical aspects of any steps required to apply a suitable license. From time to time we may modify the installed version on the plugs that we sell, therefore we do not normally specify a meteohub version number on our Sheevaplugs.

In particular, you may see the following message (but with a different System-ID):

Demo Version has timed out. You need an activation code for further operation (System-ID: xxxxxxxx).
Terms of the license have to be accepted once before Meteohub can be used.

Once logged in to meteohub, use the Maintenance tab then System Maintenance and Check for upgrade to upgrade the software. You may need to click on the refresh button; when the download is completed the text should change from "downloading update" to "Ready to install update x.x" and an install button will become available. The plug may reboot as a part of the install process; simply wait a minute or so then connect again to http://192.168.1.77 . After a software upgrade, the expiry date of your demo license may be extended.

If you log in to the serial console you may see messages such as the following; we are advised that these are normal in the meteohub configuration and may be ignored (we have also seem similar on other SD booting systems):

The upgrade procedure is something new users may have to repeat a number of times. For instance, if your starting point is version 4.6n, you may upgrade to 4.6o, then 4.6p, then 4.6q etc.

The procedure is:

• Enter http://192.168.1.77 in your browser, and visit "System Info". Check your current version.
• Click on the Maintenance page. Click on "check for update"
• Wait for a while, and click on "refresh". The text may change to (for instance) "Downloading 4.6r". If the version number that you see matches your current version (step #1), your updates are up-to-date.
• Wait until the text reads ""Ready to install <version number>" (now the left hand button reads "Install")
• Click on the "Install" button, and wait. This wait can be quite long (several minutes, sometimes). The plug will usually reboot at this point. The web page may be unavailable for a minute or two for the reboot.
• Revisit http://192.168.1.77, click on Maintenance, and "check for update". You're now back to step #2

Hi
I am trying to connect up a Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station to the internet.

I have the following:
1. Meteohub on a preconfigured SD card.
2.The SD card is plugged into Dreamplug
3. Cygwin installed on Windows XP
4. Wireless internet using WPA-PSK Tkip authentication

I switch on dreamplug and get a static blue (lhs) and green light (rhs)
I try entering 192.168.1.77 in firefox and get a connection timeout.

1. How do I open my Meteohub interface?
2. Do I need to plug the cat5 network cable into dreamplug and into my laptop to configure meteohub?
