UUID or Die ID in processor visible?
« on: 26 June 2012, 04:56:35 pm »

I am considering purchasing a DreamPlug to use as a FreedomBox. The DreamPlug sold by Newit has a Marvell Sheeva core 1.2GHz speed. The DreamPlug sold by GlobalScale has a Marvell Kirkwood 88F6281.  Does either Marvell processors  have an UUID or die ID? Is it visible to the internet? Unique id can be programmed in otp memory. Does Marvell or GlobalScale leave the UUID unprogrammed in otp memory leaving it hidden? Or is it programmed in otp memory making it visible?

How to hide the UUID? How to keep it hidden? I value my security and privacy and do not want a visible UUID.

Thank you.
