Guruplug "OPTION" SPI flash and internal micro SD reader
« on: 27 March 2010, 10:08:31 am »

Looking at your Technical information pdf for the Guru Plug Server, it shows an interesting addition in the block diagram

This is another, (in addition to the normal 512Kbyte nand flash),  512Kbyte of "SPI flash" memory and a dotted line connection to an internal uSD card reader,  both marked "optional"

This appears to be for boot purposes only.

Please can you tell me how optional do GlobalScale mean?   Is this a factory solder in job, or is there an internal SPI connector that is easy to get to?

Is the internal uSD card reader really already fitted on shipping UK units?  How stands the warranty if we want to use it?

I would like to know what my pre-ordered Gurplug plus server is capable of!

thanks and regards

Globalscale inform us that there is no connector fitted in the unit, but the pins are there for a connector to be fitted.  This is an option that can be built upon for large orders for a specific use.
