Hello, I wonder if anyone can help, this is driving me mad, my plug seems to stop and wait for a few seconds while I am using putty over ssh! if i open a second session from root and monitor "top" i see my user session and lots of other processes but nothing that could cause the plug to become unresponsive for a maybe 10 seconds!! I would like to remove a irritating entry refering to the mmc card but am having trouble stopping this process. I have just rebuilt my system from one with a sd card booting debian to a system with only a hard disk so I don't need the SD card drivers. is this a common fault, I don't remember it when my plug was new. years ago.

I have this line in top:

 75 root      20   0     0    0    0 S  0.3  0.0   0:02.57 kmmcd

and I can't kill this process.

and part of my lsmod is

ehci_hcd               36525  0
mv643xx_eth            22558  0
mvsdio                  5318  0
usbcore               123240  3 usb_storage,ehci_hcd
libphy                 14836  1 mv643xx_eth
nls_base                5367  1 usbcore
mmc_core               50218  1 mvsdio
inet_lro                5060  1 mv643xx_eth

I dont think I need mmc_core or mvsdio, perhaps I need to be told how to stop these modules.

Otherwise the plug has been brilliant for many years

I hope someone can help as these pauses, are just a little annoying

Regards.

Most commonly caused by DNS issues.
Check that the plug can both forward and reverse resolve the connecting host.
