Filesystem in USB
« on: 11 June 2010, 04:16:39 pm »

Hello folks

I am a beginner in linux and and I have a Guruplug ( without SD card socket) and I would know if it is possible   the file system would be in a USB PENDRIVE, but the kernel  in the internal NAND flash memory,  with the idea of having more space to install programs. (I have read that it is not possible boot up from a USB pendrive/ HD).

Thanks

If you just want to use a USB device as part of your file system, then mount it in /etc/fstab. If you want to boot from a USB device you'll need the JTAG for starters, and you didn't state whether you have it or not.

Yes I have the JTAG, and  I don't want the usb as a part of my filesystem, I would like put the file system  inside the USB pendrive (or most of it)
