sata port multiplier without enclosure
« on: 10 October 2013, 04:13:06 pm »

I've bought this sata port mutliplier: http://www.dawicontrol.com/flyer/fl_dc-6510pm.pdf

It's only a port multiplier, without an enclosure. It is inteded for internal use in a PC case. (So it was perfect for me, since I've mounted my Sheeva in a PC case)

It works well out of the box( eSata Sheeva UBIFS from 2011, Debian 6.0.7)!!

 :)

I have something similar in mind for an unduplicated system. Tell me more:_

1) are you using an eSata Sheevaplug?

2) are you set up for a RAID array?

3) what modifications to the configuration if using RAID?

Thanks in advance.

update

In the meantime i have had some trouble with my hdd's. Dont kown really, if they have to do with PM, but i think so. I have changed the PM 2 times, but after some month i have had trouble again. I will search for an other PM.

The port for host and the port for the first HDD have no possilbility to hook in a SATA II connector. I mean, the cable can easily slip off.
